Petra LEBEN-SELJAK:
The anthropological analysis of early Slavic skeletons from Mali grad in Kamnik
Abstract
The early Slavic cemetery at Mali Grad in Kamnik consists of 25 individual graves and two reburials. The author undertook paleo-demographic, morphological, and paleo-pathological analyses. There were 12 child, 6 male, and 7 female skeletons. The poor state of preservation of the skeletons meant that only two skulls and the heights of 10 individuals could be measured. Comparisons with contemporary skeleton series from Bled, Kranj, and Ptuj show no difference in height. Pathological changes were observed for only one skeleton.
