Petra LEBEN-SELJAK:
Anthropological analysis of the late Roman cemetery at Vrajk in Gorenji Mokronog
Abstract
The results are presented of the anthropological analysis of 17 skeletons from the partly excavated cemetery at Gorenji Mokronog (6th-7th centuries). The mortality structure of the skeleton series, the high proportion of cavities, and the results of the paleopathological analyses indicate the relatively high living standard of the population of this period. The morphological analysis confirms the presence of an indigenous population with a small proportion of foreign ethnic elements and together with the results of analysis of the epigenetic markers indicates possible kinship relations in the framework of the series.
