The Roman stone monuments of Slovenian Carinthia
Abstract
The article discusses all presently known Roman stone monuments from the present day Slovene Carinthia: from the Meža, the Drava, and the Mislinja valleys. Prevailing are monuments from the settlement of Stari trg near Slovenj Gradec / Colatio, those from the excavation of Dr. Hans Winkler between 1909 and 1912, and from the graveyard of Zagrad near Prevalje. The entire area belonged to the administrative area of Celeia. The monuments are distributed geographically, in the alphabetical order as set in Arheološka najdišèa Slovenije (ANSl) from 1975.
