Alenka RAMŠAK:
Early Iron Age tumuli at Godeško-Reteške dobrave near Škofja Loka
Abstract
The article presents the results of a field survey of the Early Iron Age tumulus cemetery by Godešič and Reteče near Škofja Loka in Gorenjska. A plan was made and the cemetery was spatially located. Documents and archival sources were consulted, which referred to the excavation of six of the 55 tumuli. The tumuli were first mentioned in 1897, while the finds published in this article come from excavations and also from amateur interventions in 1939, 1940, and 1958. The cemetery can be dated to the early Iron Age, in the period between the 7th and the middle of the 5th centuries BC.
