[Ossuaries from Poetovio and Celeia]
Abstract
Ossuaries are among the most important representatives of funerary monuments in Poetovio. Their significance lies both in their relation to sarcophagi andin their distribution in areas neighbouring Poetovio, for example in Celeia. They have formed the subject of several studies in the past, by Erna Diez (1948a) and more recently by Bojan Djurić (2001a), and continue to represent a very interesting topic, particularly in attempting to date individual ossuaries on the basis of iconographical criteria.
