Abstract

An analysis of the material from the site of Moggio Udinese (Friuli) provides an insight into the process of romanization in the Fella valley (Valle del Fella). The Roman settlement was located alongside a vital trade route that led the Roman breakthrough into the Eastern Alps. At this place, the Roman road led from Italy to Noricum and later towards the limes along the Danube.
